Song Updates

Some songs have been added to our playlist. This week I will be adding a feature on the website which will allow you to see our song database for Top Jamz.

We are hoping to keep up to date with music here at Top Jamz at all times and keep the music at a one year back track. This means songs will not be any older than a year.

So as of current from this post, this simply means we will cover some of the hottest hits from 2009 and newest hits from 2010.

If you have a Hip Hop or RnB song from 2009-2010 that you would like to see on TopJamz.com radio, definately let us know by using the “Contact Us” page.

Once the song has been voted in, it will be permantently played on our radio station! Please keep in mind that the song must have multiple requests as a hot hit in order to make it to our station. We add songs to our system once every Sunday to prevent downtimes or errors from arrising in our system.

Dominic Monaghan Admires Eminem’s Anger-Management Methods

Dominic Monaghan didn’t meet Eminem when he showed up to shoot the “Love the Way You Lie” video. But Slim Shady and the Hobbit go way back — in Monaghan’s mind at least.

The 33-year-old “Lost” star told MTV News that he first met Eminem in Paris in a time “before iPods” when a friend handed him a bootleg cassette copy of The Marshall Mathers LP.

“I was completely blown away,” he said. “It was one of those moments in music like the first time you hear DJ Shadow or the Beatles. It was a real breath of fresh air.”

A self-described “big rap fan” (old-school stars Rakim, Public Enemy and KRS-One are among his faves), Monaghan said he was drawn to the album, playing it over and over because Eminem touched on topics not usually covered by rap artists.

Tiesto Wants Fans To Film His Next Video

I personally am a fan of DJ Tiesto’s music and his DJ’ing creativity not only audibly but visually as well. I have yet to attend a Tiesto concert which is definately in my list of things to do. Here is an article from MTV.com about Tiesto’s plan for his upcoming concert:

On any given day, Tiësto, can be found rousing crowds of tens of thousands in places many ordinary folks only dream of escaping to: On Tuesday, he performed in Tunisia and later this month he’ll be in Macedonia. And then, of course, every week he travels to the tropical paradise of Ibiza, in Spain, for his residency at Privilege. But the Dutch dance music superstar is particularly excited about another recent gig, at Victoria Park in London, which kicked off a musical partnership with flash memory card maker SanDisk.

“I’m partnering with SanDisk on a new way to distribute my music,” Tiësto told MTV News.

In addition to sponsoring his concert series, the company is teaming up with the producer to deliver new music (“I made five exclusive tracks for them”) and user-generated music videos. Fans can purchase SanDisk microSD mobile memory cards at WakeUpYourPhone.com to download the music.

Britney Spears’ Manager Clears Up Rumors About New Music

While Britney Spears’ fans were hoping that producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins’ tease in a recent Ustream broadcast in which he said, “Britney fans are gonna be so happy in a few weeks,” meant that the singer would soon be releasing some new music, it seems that isn’t the case.

Her manager, Adam Leber, took to Twitter to clear the air and let fans know it’s still going to be a while before they hear anything new from Spears, who last released an album in 2008. “No new music news right now….Wish people wouldn’t mislead you guys with BS info,” he wrote. “Not cool! PS- The guys that ARE working on Brit’s next album ARE NOT talking about it…”

However, Leber did make one big promise to fans: “Brit has a new mag cover & spread coming out in the next month or so which is going to be SICK! Will let Brit reveal the details herself. Stay tuned….”

When reached for clarification on the Ustream comment, a rep for Jerkins told MTV News that any conclusions fans made regarding new music from Spears as a result of his comment were incorrect.

Spears has yet to share the details of the new magazine cover, but did recently post artwork for her latest perfume, Radiance, on her Twitter. “Just got the imaging for my new fragrance Radiance and thought I’d share it with all my tweethearts,” she wrote. In the photo, Spears appears standing on water, a slight smile on her face, wearing a long, silver halter-cut gown. The perfume bottle is covered in blue, pink and purple rhinestones. It’s expected to hit stores in September, presumably before any new music from the singer does.

Michael Jackson’s Last Home Up For Sale

The Los Angeles mansion where Michael Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest last year is up for sale, with an asking price of $28.9 million, celebrity property website The Real Estalker said on Wednesday.

Jackson was renting the seven-bedroom French Chateau-style house, located in the swanky Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, while he rehearsed for a series of London comeback concerts. But the 50 year-old singer was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest there on June 25 2009, and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The house is over 17,000 square feet and boasts 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces, pool, guest house, a theater, wine cellar, gym and an elevator. It belongs to Herbert Guez, the chief executive of U.S. clothing company Ed Hardy.

Jackson fans feigning interest in the mansion, under the guise of seeing where he died, should take note.TMZ reported that interested buyers must go through an “extensive pre-qualifying check” before being allowed inside.

The “Thriller” singer’s death was attributed to an overdose of powerful prescription drugs and the anesthetic propofol, which was used as a sleep aid. Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is awaiting trial in Los Angeles on charges of involuntary manslaughter.

Lil Wayne Talks Eminem, Drake And Prison Life

Lil Wayne called in to New York’s Hot 97 radio station Tuesday evening (August 3) from Rikers Island to talk about his time behind bars, hopeful collaborations and his upcoming EP, I’m Not a Human Being, due in September.

Wayne started his sentence on gun charges in March and is scheduled for release in November. “I’m calling you from Rikers Island right now, unfortunately,” Lil Wayne said over a crackling phone line to Hot 97′s Funkmaster Flex.

When asked about the support he’s received from fans while in jail, he said, “It’s been more than amazing. I promise that I can’t explain the love and support I’ve been getting from my fans. I never knew it was like that, and I’ve been doing this for, what, 16 years? It’s breathtaking.”

Wayne went on to remind listeners and fans how to reach him while he’s locked up.
